Don’t let her size fool you; she’s a lap-dog at heart. Stella is very affectionate, and enjoys girl-time as she is extremely loving toward women. She is shy and submissive around men, which may be the result of her time living mostly outside on a puppy mill farm. The harsh reality of her early years has not broken her spirit though. Stella has a strong desire to please her family. She enjoys long walks and one-on-one cuddle time. There’s not a toy she can’t un-stuff, possibly believing there is a prize inside; a girl can hope, right? She can also be found on her bed contently chewing away at her Nylabone. She is motivated by food and treats, so just imagine all the tricks she can learn with a patient and loving family. She’s house-trained and crate-trained. However, she’s a regular Houdini having broken out of her crate. Life outside the puppy mill farm has liberated this beauty. Because she has shown aggression toward another dog in her previous home, she would do best in a home where she is the only pet. If she becomes too focused on something or another dog while out walking, she can be easily distracted with treats or by simply changing direction. Stella is a good student in her training classes and would do well to continue with her training as she is making steady progress. She’s just looking for the right person or family to help build her confidence and make her feel safe. If you believe you can provide Stella the love, support and guidance she needs and deserves, then she’d be thrilled to meet you.

All dogs will go through a transition period after finding a new home and may need a “refresher course” in house-breaking.

All the beautiful sentiments in the world weigh less than a single lovely action.
